Mr. Burgess was a co-founder of Triangle Mezzanine Fund LLLP in 2003. Prior to joining Triangle, Mr. Burgess spent five years as Vice President of Oberlin Capital, a mezzanine SBIC fund focused on making debt and equity investments in the lower middle market. While at Oberlin, Mr. Burgess was responsible for all aspects of the investment process and served as the lead partner on multiple transactions. Prior to Oberlin, Mr. Burgess was an Associate at Cherokee International Management, a Raleigh based private equity fund. While at Cherokee, Mr. Burgess focused on evaluating and structuring private investment opportunities in the emerging economies of Eastern Europe. Mr. Burgess’ involvement in the private equity industry includes serving on the board of governors of the National Association of SBICs where he formerly served as the president of this organization’s Southern region. His involvement in community activities includes serving on the board of the International Affairs Council in Raleigh, NC. He is a native of Canada, and a graduate of the University of Regina (Great Distinction) and Regent College, Vancouver, British Columbia.
