Mr. Parker co-founded Triangle Capital Corporation’s predecessor companies, Triangle Capital Partners, LLC and Triangle Mezzanine Fund LLLP in 2002 and 2003 respectively. Prior to co-founding Triangle, Mr. Parker was a partner in Crimson Capital Company, a Greensboro, North Carolina private investment banking firm that specialized in management buyouts of middle market companies in a variety of industries. Before joining Crimson, he was Vice-President and Treasurer at Marion Laboratories, Inc., a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company, where he was responsible for Marion’s public and private financings, venture capital investments, divestitures, and investor communications. Before working at Marion Laboratories, he worked six years as Vice-President and Director of Private Placements at J. Henry Schroder Corp, a position that followed three years at Kidder, Peabody & Co., on its private placement desk. Mr. Parker began his career in 1971 at Shearson, Hammill & Co. in New York.

Mr. Parker is a graduate of North Carolina State University and Harvard Business School. He has served as the founding chairman of the Graduate School Board of Advisors at NC State, where he was also vice chairman of the Board of Visitors. He currently serves on the Board of the NC State Investment Fund.
